My car and its original Fuel Injection unit have long since departed their original relationship. LL looked at my old wreck many years ago and commented that the newly purchased FI Plenum S/N was probably to high for the vehicle S/N. I have no idea whether the id plate is original, but it is stamped 7017320, S/N 1855. Then this didn't bother me much, but now I am getting around to studying this 'matter'. My wife recommends a therapist.
If I assume every 11.9 cars were fuel injected, can I assume that my S/N should be more like 0197, or did the number begin with a '1', to make it 1197 or at least in the vicinity of X200, plus or minus five, where 'X' is '0' or '1'?
Are there any known original cars out there to validate my thinking?
Also, What date is on the distributor plate of cars with nearby S/N's?
Thanks for your help!
