'67 seats -- leather vs. vinyl??

I have a 1967 Marlboro Maroon/Black/Black convertible which has restored seats in black leather. My trim tag is STD, so my question is -- how much of a deduction over and above a 50% deduction for the seat covers should I anticipate when I have it judged for the first time this coming year?? Is there a trim tag issue?? I prefer not to re-cover the seats, as they are basically new, look great, and are very comfortable (I drive the car). I am also not sure if a 2nd set of black vinyl seats makes financial sense, although the switch appears to be an easy one (4 bolts).
I appreciate any thoughts and guidance in this area that anyone might have.
    Thanks, Joe Bardon (48279)

    Joe,

I do not have my Judging Reference Manual with me at the moment but there is a standard deduction for leather seat covers (perhaps the 50% you mention?). Beyond that I do not think there should be any further deductions.

      Joe,

Further, since you drive the car you could recoup all of the deducted points and then some if you drive to the meet (depending on how far it is of course).

Joe; The JM states " Change of interior color or fabric: 50% originality deduction on every item affected by alteration"
If I were judging this car I would deduct 4 points on on Originality, of the 24 Originality points that could be awarded to seats, backs & trim.

          Joel, William --
Thank you for your feedback and thoughts -- your responses confirm my thinking/reading about the seat deduction. Joe
