    old but new

    renewed interest - since I just purchased a 73 vert to restore. I have restored 24 C1 and C2's (and was a NCRS Judge in 70's / early 80's.)

    Glad to be back.

    I'll bet I am the oldest member @ 64.5 - Hey 60 is the new 40!

    Welcome Alan, I am sure you will have a lot of information to share with the number of Corvettes you have restored. You are not the oldest, several in the 60+ range.

          As one who was recently told I am "older than dirt" on this forum because I am going to my 50th high school reunion this year, I welcome you back. I hope Social Security is there for you whan you get old enough to collect full benifits.

                Hi Alan,

                Welcome to the board.

                24 restorations is impressive. I hope you get reinvolved in judging as well. Sharing (or in my case absorbing) knowledge is what makes this hobby so great.

                  I'm 69.4 and my Vette is 45.4, and we've been together for 45 years. My twins are 43 today. When I was their age, they were already 17 and driving my new Z-28 H.O. 5 speed, but not the Vette! Now you can see why I feel older than dirt too. (all this math makes me dizzy).

                    Terry -

                    I went to mine last summer - dirt ain't all bad, as long as it's below you.

                        Stu,
                        Your about 3.5 months older then I and my car is about 2.0 years younger then yours - so if you ever need some help give me a call. It's snowing off and on today in Jersey so I could use a trip to the Sunshine State. Did you ever have all your snow gear bronzed when you moved to Florida? Being born and raised in Jersey I dream of putting my bronze shovel over the mantle. Maybe someday.

                          Ed;

                          Actually, I sold my snow blower to the driver of the van I shipped my Vette south in. He was from Detroit, and I told him mine was too small for what he needed in Michigan, but he gave me a bill for it anyway. I still keep a few shovals down here, but they are of the dirt kind.

                            AMEN

                            I got a sneaking hunch the guy who told me I am older than dirt is older than I am anyway.
