for example a heater box to strip black paint off? Or would there be a less aggressive way?

I believe this part should receive no blackout right as it was installed after blackout? So part should be bare fiberglass?

I would not use stripper . just clean it with thinner & rags.

Erik, I would go with Bill's suggestion. I found a swap meet C1 heater box that had been painted years ago. I used thinner soaked cotton cloths and rubbed gently until the paint was removed. It worked well.

Erik; Funny you should ask. I just cleaned one up. Like Bill said I used thinner and rags. On the hard to remove spots I used OOOO steel woo and thinner. I get impatient.
