I have been installing the headlights on my 1963 and see in the AIM 5 clips that hold the wiring harness to the header bar above the headlight. What do these clips look like and are they metal with a rubber/plastic coating? Does anyone have a picture? Thanks in advance for your help.

Re: Wiring harness clip on Headlight header bar
Paul,
The clips you want are available from LI Corvette Supply. They are dead on. I have seen originals that appeared to possibly have ben dipped in a light coat of something but degraded quickly. These were not readily available for quite a while back when so its a detail missing on lots of cars out there, it is really impossible to intall the harness correctly and neatly without them, there are also two plastic push in fasteners taped into your harness that push into the header also, be sure you locate them properly before installing as they do not remove easily if at all without breaking.
Let me know if you need a pic anyway but if you go to the vendors web sight I mentioned they have a pic of virtually every item they sell, including that clip. Good Luck!

Re: Wiring harness clip on Headlight header bar
Paul,
If your car is a early 63 the black strap that's used on the inner fenders to secure the harness is used to retain the headlight harness to the header bar and I am not even sure if the taped in retainers were in early headlight harness. Sometime later the retainer changed to the style you are thinking of. I am not sure the dates of change, others may know.- Top
