    67 Convertible top adjustment

Hi, can someone please advise me on the best method to adjust a convertible top or direct me to a sight outlining the procedure.

I recently took the softtop off my 67 to have the body painted and I noted the location of the bracket and bolts on the car for the replacement. I just re-installed the softtop and now it is very tight. I can barely latch the top closed with the pin at the higest position and can not close the latches with pin lower in the catch where it should be.

I am not sure if I need to raise the mounting bracket slightly or to move the bracket forward slighlty. The top had a real nice fit before and I am afraid to loosen it to much and cause a poor saggy looking fit.
    Thank you.

    Lorne,

The two sets of screws that mount the convertible top the the sides of the car (interior) just behind the seats are the screws I would try first. Loosen them slightly and move the top up and down, this will permit the whole top to raise/lower and move slightly forward/backward with each adjustment. Get those set correctly and then adjust at the pins both front and back. Hope that helps.

      Thanks Kirk,
I will loosen the side mounting screws and try to make the adjustments. i was wondering if i should make the adjustments with the top latched or unlatched and latch only for fitment test.

I did mine unlatched. I would adjust the side, tighten enough to hold the position and then check the front pin alignment and then the rear deck latches. Took a few times, but I eventually got it right.
