Years ago in a Corvette magazine, there was a photo of a mid year ragtop that broke in half on the highway from rust. I had a 67 convertable a while back (1986) that when I jacked it up to remove the rear tire, the frame bent at the point of the jack and the wheel stayed on the ground. Not a good thing.

Nice work.
Usually the drivers side is worse then the passenger side. I had to make a similar repair to the drivers side on my car. The passengers side is still the original material.
The cars handling improved noticably when I had the repair done which makes me think the frame was about to qiuit on me.
