    1977 AC Compressor Decals

Fueled by a thread about 1978 AC-Compressors I ordered a replacement sticker for the replacement compressor in my 1977.
I instantly received comments about the variations between repro and original stickers...

Now here is the variation (see pictures below - left original and right repro). They are REALLY different (not just in details).

My question: did I (maybe) order the wrong one - as it was named "1977-78 DELCO AIR COND COMP DECAL 1131129"? Delco? My original reads HARRISON...

What is / where can I find the "1977 HARRISSON AIR COND EVAP BOX DECAL ACM-050-77B" on my car? Could that one be the right one???

    Thanks for your input

I suspect you may have a service replacement compressor unit...look at the model number and compare to the 75-77 tech guide. It calls for a 1131078...same as 78-79.

I don't know that we've had a good study of compressor labels so your charting new ground here (for late model C3). I've got two 78 compressor labels one carries the 1131078 number while the other shows 1131098. I've concluded the later is a service replacement. Your unit is showing a 1131129 number which I interpret to mean its a later version of the R-4 radial compressor.

What is / where can I find the "1977 HARRISSON AIR COND EVAP BOX DECAL ACM-050-77B" on my car? Could that one be the right one?
I shot a photo of the Harrison evaporator box label off a 78...this is what you're looking for and is not the same as the compressor label. It's located down by the water shutoff valve.

      Re: 1977 AC Compressor Decals

Never noticed that Evap decal... Got to take a closer look.....

Okay, that might be a lead - a service replacement compressor! I never doubted, my old one was the original...
Is THIS the number (on the decal) or can I find another one stamped into the casing of the comp as well?

So, according to the Tech Guide the compressor should be #1131078 with a decal like the repro one, pictured above?
As this compressor now is a replacement (changed it myself some 4 years ago), I only care for some kind of correct look - I do not intend to fool any judge. But the comp just looks better with that yellow/silver/black sticker instead of the "GM Reman"-one on it...

Well, it needs a bit of re-thinking - but giving the car an even more original look by adding this decal now really has something.
