'56 1st to 2nd Design Engine Changeover Survey

Looking for early '56 owners in the VIN range of 1600 to 1700 to determine engine design type. Previous research and Nolan Adam's book indicate the engine design change over from 1st to the 2nd occurred between 1658 and 1663. Appreciate hearing from any of '56 owners in the 1600-1700 VIN range as to which engine design the have. Research is for the '56-7 JM update. Thanks in advance, Gary....

Sorry, but engines do NOT go into the engine area in numerical order and they do NOT come out of the engine area in numerical order.

I think that is actually Gary's point--that although Noland has two very specific VIN's, that the changeover is softer than that, and would like to know the wider band for greater JM accuracy.

Mike, thanks. Exactly what I'm trying to find out is the broader band of 1st design and 2nd design engine VIN range to include in the JM update.
