    Hi Wayne,
    Merry Christmas!
I think the GM Chassis Service Manual is the most help. Our store sells these for various years. You'll find the Service Manual far better than the Haynes or Chilton.
    Regards,
    Alan

PS: I just noticed you said 'CD". I'm sorry I can't help there. I'm still living and happy in the 'paper' era.

      Re: re favorite repair Manual

Unless I missed it you, didn't tell us what year Corvette you are working on. I just love a guessing game on Christmas day. It so much puts me in a seasonal mood.

The newer models (certainly C5 and C6) have manuals that come on CD. I am not sure about C4. C1 through C3 do not have manuals on CD as far as I know.

Those CDs that are available from Helm -- the original supplier of the paper manuals -- cost about $400. The paper versions cost anywhere from $105 to $140. The difference in price is because the CD has many more models than just Corvette on them.

www.helminc.com is the source for both CD and paper manuals. Any other company is taking their material from the Helm Manuals. You are much better off going to the source. While the Helm Manuals are not without their mistakes and omissions (they have a disclaimer that they are written for the trained professional, and thus they are not meant for DIY folks), they are far better than anything else out there.

      Merry Christmas
      Terry

        Hi Terry,
I've learned to play 'year' detective!
Wayne had 'flagged' 63-64 and I took a quick look at his previous posts to see if there was clue. There was and from there I asssssssumed.
        Merry Christmas!
        Regards,
        Alan

            Re: re favorite repair Manual

Wayne I still have the 63 Corvette and the 64 Corvette supplement Chassis Service Manuals from Helm I bought after buying my 64 Corvette. Don't have the 64 convertible anymore, wish I did, but I still use the 63&64 manuals for information when working on my 68 and 70. I have manuals for my C3's as well from Helm Inc that I use.

I see now the 1963-64 flag. I missed that first time through. Sorry.

Wayne, Detroit Iron Information systems and Dave Graham have scanned alot of the manuals to CD-ROM. If you can't find a CD-ROM then order a paper copy from the NCRS store. Gary....
GM Shop Manuals at wholesale prices for retail distributors. Detroit Iron PDF manuals on CD and also licensed reprint on paper.

                  Re: re favorite repair Manual

I agree with Alan, the GM Service Manuals are great and are what was used by the mechanics at the dealership.
                  I wouldn't part with mine,,,,,,,,,,

                    Re: re favorite repair Manual

Just to chime in on what has already been said about the chassis service manual and factory assembly manual - both work well together for me. Aside from them, the help from this board fills in the missing info every time.
