Is the 1969 L46 Diverter valve Stamp "GL" ?

I couldn't find it in a search and don't trust my memory as much as I used to.

I thought I remembered reading "GL" somewhere.

I believe the broadcast code for all '69 diverter valves was GJ (Bizzoko pages 114 and 115).

All 1969 small block diverter valves were the same and were coded "GL". 1969 big blocks, except L-88 and ZL-1, were coded "GJ". 1969 L-88 and ZL-1 were coded "DC".

The 1968 big block valve for all Corvette big block applications was the same as the 1969 L-88 and ZL-1 valve and was coded the same "DC". 1968 small block valves were different than 1969 and had a different configuration.

I would definitely trust Joe's info over any other source. I'm sorry that I posted an incorrect answer from a source that I thought to be accurate. Many times I have hesitated to post a response to a question that I thought to be right for this very reason. I will be more careful in the future.

No need to be more careful OR to hesitate to post based upon some doubt that exists in your mind. If we all decided not to post based upon some doubt that existed in our minds, there would be about 95% fewer posts on this board. It's perfectly OK to be incorrect; if others have contrary information they can post it. Neither this DISCUSSION board or anyone that posts to it, most definitely including myself, represent the "The Oracle".
