    C1 Hardtop butterfly(?) or hold down bracket replacement

    I have a '56 hardtop which I'm in the process of restoring. The bracket on the driver's side used to attach the top to the deck lid is broken. I called Glassworks and they said the brackets are extremely hard to locate. I'm wondering what experience others have had in welding the bracket or getting a replacement. Or if anyone has tried having one made and if so how it was done?
