Question on C2 stamp pad judging

I think I know the answer to this one, but I'd like to double check with you guys. If the engine plant assembly date stamping is after the cars build, that would be a 25 point deduct, correct? So if you had a correct casting number block that was cast within 6 months of the cars build, and it had the correct suffix, but wrong vin and an assembly date after the cars build that would be a total of 50 point deduction for the "engine case" providing stamp pad appearance is full credit?

Yes.

Each feature or group of features is judged sequentially .

Casting number is first. If OK, no deduct and proceed to next step. If not OK, stop judging the engine case and deduct 350 points.

Casting date is next. If before the assembly date of the vehicle up to 6 months, no deduct and proceed to next step. If not OK, stop judging the engine case now and deduct 180 points (IIRC).

Stamp pad is last. Three features are judged and scored independently. Sequence is not important.

-VIN derivative. If OK no deduct. If not OK deduct 25 points.

-Engine machine code. If OK no deduct. If not OK deduct 25 points.

-Stamp pad surface. If OK no deduct. If not OK deduct 38 points.

You mentioned casting date within 6 months......... I assume you mean 6 months before.

For the stamp pad features, it really doesn't matter for scoring what's not typical about them since it's an 'all or nothing' deduction. It is helpful to inform the owner about your specific finding though, verbally or in writing.
