69 BB dist shield bracket color?

What color are the distributor shield brackets that bolt to the intake? The tech manual says engine orange. My car is an L89 and the original brackets still have some black paint? Black because the alum heads were not painted engine orange?? Thanks, Lynn Schwebach

My '71 LS6's have aluminum intake and heads and those ignition shield supports were orange.

Black are service replacement -- over the counter. If somehow the ones installed at Tonawanda missed being painted they would be bare steel.
