Anyone know how to remove oil/gas/dirt stains from the surface of the FI intake/base plate without damaging the surface?

Mike, try carb cleaner and terry cloth rag. Will not cause any damage. Bill.

All of the following will give good results:

Carburetor cleaner
Brake cleaner
Simple Green
Dawn dish detergent

Best results will happen if you use more than one of these chemicals - just NOT in combination with each other.
