How difficult would it be for any owner to list their corvette with a vin# several pics of their vette, color, miles, known history as well as a short story regarding their Vette? This information would provide same year owners with a simple selection of same year owners and we all know every year has issues. There are several registry sites on the internet now but NCRS has an opportunity to cater to every corvette owner. I have a sample question for your members. Is the owner of 194377S103103 A 67 Milano Maroon A/C aware his vette had 41799 miles in 1984? 427 400 PW, etc? Or how about Vin# 1Z67L2S526003 LT! Conv with 40524 miles! At this time I am just a messenger but guys! In todays age every corvette owner is an investor and the future of ncrs is based on passion! It is time for us C1 C2 and C3 to sit back in the class while the new c freshmen order a big mac then call triple a because they forgot to put the vette in reverse.

Re: Registry
Ted,
Interesting idea. I have owned 3 '70 LS5 coupes, 1 '71 LS5 coupe, 2 '72 ZQ3 coupes and can provide a lot of information on those cars for the current owners. I would certainly be interested in knowing some previous history on my 2 '71 LS6 coupes. I'm in.- Top

Re: Registry
Check out the C1registry.com That may have some interest to you. Some owners are reluctant to post vin numbers and license plates online, as well as photos. Many of us have seen ads of cars for sale that were taken from sites and used to create fake online ads... But, I posted details on my car to share info. I know one owner of my car, but he died a few years back, getting history on older cars is tough.- Top

Re: Registry
There must be a new 'registry' that gets initiated at least once a year. How many of them last more than a year or two when the owner sunsequrntly gets bored or tired of paying bandwidth costs?
The NCRS could organise one. Would you like to make a long term personal commitment to maintaining it?- Top

Re: Registry
I think this is a super idea, and would be happy to provide whatever history I have to current owners of the mid-years from my past.
Such a registry could provide an interesting database of car history. Although it might break the hearts of some current owners, it could also be useful in identifying fakes in today's marketplace.
At some time in the future (when we're all gone) this would be extremely valuable in preserving Corvette history. My vote is the NCRS does it (the sooner the better) before the info is lost forever!

Re: Registry
Not going to work. There is no potential profit involved. Money drives this hobby, like it does with all other classic cars.
A database of known cars has been suggested many times, and tried a few times. Never lasts very long.- Top

Good post Mike. This topic arises every few months. The fact of the matter is that there already are several registries that provide this service.- Top

Re: Registry
Well at least the C1, C2 and C3 registries are maintianed by the same guy maintaining this forum (together with John W.)...
Whenever I really get bored doing it I'll gladly donate the three registries to the NCRS...

Re: Registry
Rob I remember a long time back when I was looking for history and options on a C1 corvette and had done days worth of research before I came accross your Registry. I think when looking for things under google with the heading Corvette it doesn't come up until you scramble through heaps of pages. I wonder if you could change something so it comes up on earlier pages. I just wonder how many people know it really exists. It's my favourite site but I'm not sure if every Corvette fanatic knows it's about.Stewy
