Does anyone reproduce the key envelope that belongs in the owner's packet? I have a 69 and of course looking for a key envelope to complete my owners packet contents for judging.

Re: Key Envelope
If you are looking for a real "square Key" envelope be sure it has the two glue "daubs" on the flap. That is how you tell and original from a reproduction. The glue is yellowish and is difficult to reproduce.Originally posted by M. Craig Willetts (36551)Here is the key envelope you requested. $30 for either plus shipping. If interested let me know.

Re: Key Envelope
I found a recipe on the net for making your own envelope glue, and it came out nice and yellowish and old-looking. I applied it to an aged repo key envelope, and before it completely dried I lightly closed the flap and pulled it back open. It marred the glue a bit, making it more difficult to analyze, and looking like a real one that had been barely glued shut and opened. Lost no points at the National with it.
Here's the recipe:
6 tablespoons white vinegar
4 1 oz packets unflavored gelatin
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
Bring vinegar to boil in a small pan, add gelatin and stir until dissolved. Add extract and mix, then brush on thin layer and let dry. It'll dry fairly quickly and thicken so brush on pretty quickly.- Top
