Convertible Hold Down Straps

I've had people e-mail me asking about the JM straps . The JM makes it sound like all had the black straps and mention one 54 may have had a beige straps in a blue Corvette.
All light or dark beige interiors used beige straps and beige soft top lid rubber cushions . I see they repro the black straps for $400.00 and no one repro's the beige because the JM don't mention using them. So here again I tell people if they play the JM they have to conform to the JM or go orginal! Comments welcome'd

Roy-- I did not know that someone repro'd the straps-- I have never seen any repro's . Do you know where?? I dont know about the price,. I did see an original set about a year ago on ebay .I think they went for 6 or 7 hundred. I am not sure I would even pay 400 for the repros . I got top flight without any.

I've had two red interior 54's and they both came with black footmans straps. However, they both came with beige covers on the fuel tank lid and beige spongy pads on the underside of the deck lid.

You can get black pads from Grossmuellers. Anyone know where I can get beige pads or the material to cut some? I have a pattern.

Straps could have been black (red interior) as you said the cover and pads are biege ??? on that who knows , a year change???

Yes there is an M or W, depending on which direction you look at it, on the buckle.

Your correct (real original) has a W or M depends how you look at it. I never seen a repro set, but what does it matter if the JM don't mention it like the beige color or pads!People pay 4 or $700.00 for black then later the JM changes the game.
This is the stuff I talk about in (trivia) many people that repro parts don't go into detail if the JM don't. People pay big $$$ then later have to re-buy the same part when the JM changes and the repro guys Chang their part again to meet the JM like the front bumpers (remember that USA). That's why it hard to sell real parts to some people because they say (well the JM don't mention that) DA! So I've had real parts I cant sell because repro's are so clean and pretty!
