    Distributor Hold Down Clamps

I attached pictures of the 4 different Chevy hold-down clamps that I came across in my extra parts box. Maybe someone knows which one was used in which years.

Looks like the pictures didn't get attached. It's real easy to attach them. Just click the "paperclip" from the menu on the top of the posting window. Then, find the photos and upload them. It's very simple.

The furthest left clamp in the photo is a GM #3791246. This clamp, in conjunction with a GM #3770598 retainer, was used for most 63-68 small block applications.

The next clamp looks to me to be a SECOND DESIGN GM #3704912 which was used from 1969-78 for all V-8 engine applications. It's also possible it's a GM #14007385 used for 1979-90+ applications since that clamp is very similar. However, I expect it's the 3704912.

I'm not sure what the third clamp is. It may be a GM #3772532 or some other.

The fourth clamp is, I believe, the FIRST DESIGN GM #3704912. It was used for 1955 V-8 applications as Roy mentioned. It may also have been used for sometime after 1955.
