The last paper label I had on a 55 vette top got wet in the rain and fell off. It seems to me I saw a car once who had some sort of protection that the owner could take off for judging, shows etc. Does any one know exactly how to protect this label?

Re: convertable top -white paper label
Joe-- I just had a new top installed . it has a new tag or label. I do not need another label.I just need to know how to protect it. I read your 1969 post and it looks like some sort of double sided tape. I will give you a call-I believe you are in California which is 3 hrs or so behind me in Ontario. I will try to make the proper timing for the call.- Top

Hello Don;
Another possibility that has worked in practice is to mask off around the tag and spray w/ the clear of your choice.
Spray enough that it seeps into the stitching at the base.
Just my 2 cents.
RayAnd when you get the choice to sit it out or dance
I hope you dance

Re: convertable top -white paper label
This is one item I have a hard time putting on my to do list to restore. It's too much like walking around with a price tag on your shirt. Then again, it's usually folded up with the top. Until I can see out my soft window this one will have to wait!- Top

Re: convertable top -white paper label
Don, I purchased one of the plastic soft top protectors from Mr. O'Neil and it works perfectly. Fits snuggly up or down. The last NCRS meet the judges did not require me to remove either. Had several folks ask about it and where to buy. They are bit pricey but in the scheme of things it's money well spent.
Cheers,

Rick,
I believe Jim O'Neil charged around $30 or so per unit. These are a hard plastic unit so you won't have to worry about breaking. I have seen no signs of any visible marks on the soft as well from use. The best idea on the market so far. Good luck.
