I have the ignitions switch out of my dash gauge cluster. When I try to put it back I see that the switch itself has three shoulders, 2 the same size(maybe 1/8" wide) and one wider, (maybe 1/4"). The dash only has two slots, both being the smaller size. Is this the correct switch?

Re: '61 Ignition Switch
Factory original ignition switch was 1116577. The Delco Remy switches were typically identified by "Delco Remy" or "DR" embossed in the switch housing along with the last three digits of the PN (577 in this instance) embossed in the case.
Many made aftermarket 'fits/works' replacement switches (Standard, Etc.) and they typically have a slightly different case/mounting geometry (one fits several applications). I'd eyeball the ignition switch housing for identifying marks...- Top

Re: '61 Ignition Switch
Mine does have "577", so I guess it is correct. But, are all three shoulders supposed to go through "slots" in the dash? My dash only has two slots, both the same size. The only way I can seem to get it to align, is for the thicker of the three, which has a very small "tip" on the end, just slightly goes into the dash slot at the top. The other two shoulders are basically serving as "standoffs" against the back of the dash. Make sense?- Top
