    Radio vendor

Are there any vendors out there that deal with vintage Delco radios?

Refurbishing and or selling reconditioned units?

    Vintage 1969.

    Thanks

Plus, know what you're looking for (PN, date, configuration) when you shop because there are quite a few novices out there who'll sell you HALF of a radio!

Without knowing/understanding the early Shark radio system (two piece system: basic radio chassis + remote underdash convector unit), guys get the 'big' piece thinking they've got the who radio when in fact, they've only got half of the system...

          John:
I recently sent my U79 Radio & components to Jerry Rudbeck (formerly with D&M Resto) and was very happy with the result. The radio and accompaning stereo components were in a box, wires all cut, & in unknown condition. Jerry refurbished the whole system, added an iPod input jack into the rear of the radio unit, and advised me on speakers. Only 8-10 ohm spkrs are recommended when using a stock radio setup.

The iPod sounds awesome & the cable can easily be tucked away if judges are around. I highly recommend Jerry. Here's his email addr:

For now I'm just looking for something cosmetically correct to fill a hole that's not surface rusted.

I saw a 1969 (1/2 radio) as mentioned, no guarentee it worked, and it sold for over $400.

            Nuts.

You'de think you could find a cosmetically nice, non operational radio for $100.

Cosmeticly nice/non functional is an oxymoron

                Perhaps.

Cosmetically nice, "non guarenteed" operational maybe.

More than likely I'll never finish the installation as I never have had sound systems in my classic cars.

I much prefer experiencing the sounds of the motor and the road.

I just have to correctly fill a hole.

Are the radio front plates asthetically the same from 69-72?
