YOM license plates

Our state allows the display of YOM license plates as long as the number on the old plate is not in current use. I need a 67 plate. The plate is actually a 66 with a 67sticker. I have two plates in fair condition with 67 stickers and a very nice 66 plate without a sticker. I would like to transfer one of the stickers to the best plate or purchase a 67 sticker. Does anybody know a source for some information? The only thing I can find is a place to join a plate collector club. I have no interest in collecting.

You can heat up the back of the plate with a heat gun. This will release the adhesive and you can carefully remove it and transfer it to to plate you want it on while the adhesive is still hot and sticky. You might find one you don't care about to practice on first because the ones from my state tear easily.
Whether it is legal in your state I couldn't tell you but it works here in Wa.

Hemmings, including www.hemmings.com, usually has a number of sources for plates/stickers/etc..

scrape the sticker or stickers off from the plate from the bottom of the sticker or sticker-stack, very slowly and carefully with a fresh razor scraper. Soak them in a air-tight jar in Naptha. This will loosen the glue enough that you can then separate the stickers with the razor scraper. Then buy a roll of 3M 467MP (200MP thick) double-sided tape. It can run about 10 dollars on eBay + shipping, but I have a whole roll of it. If you send me a self-addressed stamped envelope I'll mail you some. You then stick the tape on the back of the sticker after cleaning off the old glue. The tape is very thin like the old glue and the sticker stuck on the plate will look just like original.

Check to see if your State requires a sticker - MA does not (so I've been told)
