Fibreglass Repair Preperation

I need to repair some fiberglass on the underside of my C2 body. The area has alot of road grime and grease build up that needs to come off. What are the best products to use to clean this off prior to repairing the fiberglass?

Any advise would be appreciated.

Use the following in sequence as needed: scrapers, mineral spirits (paint thinner), Dawn dish detergent or Simple Green, and finally lacquer thinner. It shouldn't be a problem, but if you are concerned about digging into the fiberglass with a metal scraper, use a plastic bondo spreader.

You can skip right to the lacquer thinner stage if you want, but be sure you clean an area well beyond the repair; you don't want any grease or oil in your repair area. Lacquer thinner will not harm your fiberglass if you wipe it on...leaves the fiberglass squeaky clean and shiny.

I also rough up the area where your going to glass with 80 grit

The first step a friend and I used on his car a few years ago was a trip to the car wash and alot of quarters. If you have a power washer that will work, but you have to clean your drive later.
