    Frigidaire Foil Label Opinion

    Hi all,
I am having the internals of my compressor rebuilt. Attached is a photo of the label on the unit which I believe to be original to the car. Some of the reproduction labels appear to be a bit longer for the 740 model. With my usual restoration thought process of maintaining originality, I am trying to protect this one. I do not have an original one to compare with, hence my question.

Does it look to be a correct size label?

    Code 042013
    late 71 BB

    Thanks Joe

I looked at my 70 & it looks like yours. It is 4.0" long & the green part is .897. Good luck with the resto.

Does the code number work for your car? You know that is a date, right? Instructions on how to decode it are in the TIM&JG. I would do it for you, but I can't read all the numbers.

I'm with Ken; it does look like an original label

        Hi Terry,
The way I understand the code 042013 is 04 (month) 20 (day) 1 (year) 3 (shift). That works with my car. The AC hasn't worked in a long time. I am just starting to go through the components.

I needed to have a sanity check on the label. Thanks for the input.

            Joe,
The date code fitting the build of the car is the final proof of originality. Do your best to keep that label on the compressor. I doubt you would be pleased with one of the reproductions, unless their quality has changed lately.
