    '65 L79 harmonic balancer and p/s pulleys.

I'm looking for the correct part numbers for the harmonic balancer pulley and the p/s add-on pulley for a '65 L79 car with N40 but no C60. There are plenty of discussions for '66 and '67 models, but not so much for '65 cars.

    Help will be appreciated.

That's because 1965 is a very confusing year as far as pulley configurations were concerned, especially for cars with power steering and more especially for L-79 with power steering. In fact, there may have been 2 different configurations used. The best information would come from owners with known-original 1965 L-79's with power steering.

Tony -- I agree wholeheartedly with Joe; I took a stab at the '65 AIM as well as the '65 P&A30 July '65 rev. and it just doesn't make sense .

Riddle me this, Batman. Is the 3850838 harmonic balancer pulley correct for a '65 L79 car without either A/C or P/S?

IMHO, yes. The '838' pairs with the '245' large dia. 2-groove water pump pulley on L79, L76 and L84; the L76 with air takes the same crank pulley but the smaller w.p. pulley.
          -----------------------------------
CORRECTION TO ABOVE PARA: sorry, I meant the 3858533 crank pulley pairs with the 245.
The 838 shows up in my Oct '66 P&A30 as for '64-6 Corvette (exc, Sp. H/Per., F. I.), which MAY refer to '65 L79 which the catalog sometimes shows as Sp. H/Per w. Hyd. Lifters. I should never join these small block pulley discussions.
          ------------------------------

The problem lies with the L79 -- seems like this engine option was added as an afterthought to the AIM. Can't see reference to the three-groove crank pulley on L79 w/N40 that is mentioned in the '65 TIM&JG.
