Convertible top protection when folded

On the 54 there is a rectangular beige soft pad on the cover for the gas tank. Also there are two sort of bone/pork chop shaped pads that go on the underside of the deck lid. What is the correct color of these for the 54? Black or beige? I seem to think mine were beige but that was 15 years ago and I can't recall. I bought two repos recently and was told that they only came black.

Also, does anyone have a photo that shows the exact position and orientation of these pads on the lid that they could share? I knew this was going to be tricky so I took a picture before I removed the originals. However, I have misplaced the photo.

They're wrong beige pad was used on many 54's depending on the color, 55 all but white used beige I believe, along with the top hold down straps also being beige if the pads are

Thanks Roy. Very interesting about the footmans straps. I thought they were always black. Obviously not by the photos you sent.

BTW interesting green color on the car. Very strange.

You cant always go by the JM or suppliers if you wont your Corvette right and original , but if your going for top flight then follow the JM right or wrong.
