Electrical Wiring Harness Regulator to Gen
Some time back I took my wiring harness off my reg to generator. I have purchased a new wiring harness but can't remember where the earth strap goes to the regulator. I thought it come off one of the 2 screws that hold it to the body but the new attachment hole in the earth strap is to small for the screw, so I'm thinking it doesn't go there. So now I'm lost where does it go. I'm not sure if it makes a difference the car come with a radio or not. Help!!!!!

The braided ground 'eye' will attach to the generator casing with a fine thread bolt with possibly an offset E. The threaded whole is approx. 2 inches forward of the 'A' terminal on my 2173 generator.David Dawdy -

David I just want to be sure you say the earth strap attaches to the top of the regulator cover not the regulator body. The cover screw will fit so it does make sense. Thanks DavidComment

Cover is correct. Later on they made a provision for attaching to the body of the regulator.Comment
