For you that drive your restored C1 Corvette nice to have these on hand GM accessories ,the flares are dated for each year.

Roy-- Those corvette tools might have been good in 1955. Nowadays it is not enough. we need boxes of tools now which probably costs thousands of dollars and cases to keep them in which costs even more. we need cabinets etc etc. and last of all we need a big fancy garage to store all of this stuff. We need gas and oil memorabilia to hang on the walls. Hopefully there may even be room left in the garage for the car, that is if you built it big enough

Interesting as always, Roy. You and Joe Lucia must have a garage just to house your parts!!!

Now DON! I know your older then dirt and can still remember back then we could fix any car with a set of pliers' and a screw driver , to day we just get on the phone and call a toll truck because I can even find the engine or battery any more!

....todays Corvettes don't break down..... Last month I drove my C6 over 2 1/2 hours to a sanctioned slalom. Ran it over the course at least 20 times, drove the 2 1/2 hours back home(trying not to slalom), parked in the garage, and not a problem.

If I tried that with the '59 I'd be replacing parts and tightening all of the loose bolts for days.

BTW, here's my 2007 C6 toolkit, pt# 88960625. I keep it handy, along with 2 cans of "flatfix", my 12v air pump, and tire rubber plug repair kit.

Re: C1 '55 Oil Pan Diff from '55 Chev?

            Roy:
What's the difference between a Chev Oil Pan (265) and a Corvette Oil Pan ???? They both have no Oil Filter at the bottom.
And was the early '56 Vette/Chev the Same or Not ??

I have two "emergency kits" for our new Chevy; First is the On-Star button, second is the AAA card/cell phone combo. As for the "old Vettes" the kit I carry in them includes, belts, sockets, wrenches, screw drivers, duct tape, shop rags to muffle my language, etc., etc.---

A 55 265 oil pan weather a Corvette or Car are all the same and EARLY 56 Corvette also. There is no other oil pan like it (any year) A good oil pan should sell for $300 and up AND are vary hard to find. Your competing with Car guys that are restoring a 55 Car and there are more of them then us Corvette people ! ( try locating a 55 four barrel intake)
