Can anyone offer advise on how to repair the stainless trim pieces on my 54? Two of my side moldings have small dings in them, and I'd like to fix them.

Doing the trim is not too bad to do. I just did the glove box trim and it was not too bad.

Buy the following:
1. Ding hammer
2. 200, 400, 600, 1500 wetsand grit paper
3. Metall alluminum polish
4. buffing pad
5. grinder will work though buffing machine is better
6. 0000 steel wool
7. rouge (green and white)
8. fine metal file
9. rubber gloves
10. leather protector gloves
11. face mask and shield

Take out the dings lightly using the ding hammer. Then file lightly down the high spots. Wet sand starting with 200 to get the major scratched out then work down to 1500 until it is somewhat shiny. Polish using the 0000 steel wool. Then start with green rouge on the buffing wheel to white rouge on the buffing wheel. You could use a dremel though it is slower with a smaller area. Also, a wheel on a drill works okay (not fast enough).

Check youtube for some examples on how to do it. Also, practice on something other than the parts for instance use a old knife or spoon something you do not care what happens to it.

Find a good chrome shop they can do it and repair holes if needed
