Mike, I remember Bob from Columbus Ohio back in early 60's. He had a catering service (trucks) and his mechanics used to come into the Standard Oil station where I worked, One even had the nerve to ask $3500 for a raspy little black Cobra he was driving!

My sister in law ex- hubby had a 66 Cobra 427 Black. Back East won 2nd place in Frank Moradda's Car show in Hartford Ct. Sold it in 72 for 7K down payment on a house. Never saw it just pics. Now Paul Pellerin in Ct. runs Ferrarris Not a bad choice.

"Columbus" Bob was a great Corvette driver also. He was the 1960 SCCA National Champ in his 1960 white # 33 Corvette after Jim Jeffords had won in 1958 and 59. "Marietta" Bob was another great Corvette driver and good friend. He was just nominated for the Corvette Hall of Fame at the Museum. Both men are from Ohio.

"Columbus" Bob was on the Shelby race team from 63-66 and also drove a Shelby GT-350 Mustang.

In 67-69 he co-drove with "Marietta" Bob for Doug Bergen in Doug's L-88. They were first in the Watkins Glen 6 hour July 14,1968 enduro.

Mike, doesn't having bought the '57 Corvette from the Penn State student for $450, kind of,....make up for passing on the big block Cobra for under $100K?
I was dumb enough to pass many of them up. And,..... was the guy dumb enough to sell a 1970 Boss 302 in 1982 for under $2,500, in order to buy my wife a newer, bigger, house. Wife hated the Boss due to "no power steering".
