    Dan;

    You are a Gentleman and a Scholar. I stand corrected. Should have checked my owner's manual first. I just went out in the cold garage (lower 60's here) and did a check with my everyday key and it works as you say. It has a desire to come out in the OFF position, but will not budge in the ACC position. I think when I had the problem years ago it was with a much more worn key, so perhaps my switch is still pretty good.

    Thanks for correcting me. After I hit "submit", I thought to myself; oh oh, I wonder if I recall that right. Oh well, if not, Dan will straighten me out in short order.

    Thanks;

    Stu Fox

      The "Accessory" position is the same as the "On" position except in "Accessory" there's no power to the coil (so you don't fry the coil or burn the points while you're listening to the radio).

        Thanks for the tips. I am going to get a knife type battery switch to prevent this from happening again - also because I store the car remotely.

        BTW, I put the battery on a small trickle charger for 24 hours and the car was fine the next day - fired right up.
