Need help finding stainless door trim-'64

Need the door stainless outside weatherstrip piece for a '64 Convert, both sides. These are the thin pieces that fit between the door glass seal and the door itself.

Are you speaking of the piece that has the fuzzy felt stapled to it? I'm pretty sure that is available as repro now as I have seen it in catalogs. That is something that it would be hard to tell ropro from NOS. I know you can get the material that staples on because I did that about 30 years ago. I had one damaged SS strip due to my friend trying to capture my dropped passenger side window with a screw driver (prying). I bought a replacement from a junk yard in Washington state, only to find it was from a later year and was just a tad thicker (wider). I used it for a number of years until I found the right one for a 63 - so check your widths. Unless you measure them, you can not tell the difference.

If it's the outside piece, I don't recall ever seeing it available. The rubber door "wipe" strip is attached to a thin, flexible metal backing, but it doesn't show. The stainless item I think you're referring to is a separate part.

I don't think any vendors make the exterior stainless. That you will ahve to find used. You can get the rubber piece and staple it to the old stainless.

I searched for one of these door outer window wipe seal moldings last year. There were none being reproduced that I coud find. I did purchase a used one that was dented, and had it restored. I see a pair of them are available in this month's Driveline. Search the member ads for "molding" and it will show up.

I stand corrected and apologize. I just went and looked at a few of the better vendor catalogs and I guess that is right; that the SS piece is not reproduced. Dr. Rebuild has about the best illustrations and individual component availability. I had seen the things in there often, but never had need to check it further. They do have the outer rubber and inner "Whiskers", and the usual mounting hardware, etc.

As the other fellows have said, looks like you will need to find used as I did over 35 years ago. Sorry.
