Retro Radio Restoration

Does anyone have any experience with Mike Frenchek and Retro Radio Restoration of Elizabethtown, PA? I was going through the cards I picked up at Carlisle and I had kept his for a possible source for restoring my '59 Wonderbar.

I met them too, at Carlisle and later at Hershey, but I thought their business was conversions (to a solid state FM stereo tuner with a modern amplifier), not 'restorations' per se. At least that's all they offer for mid-year radios, I think.

I think we're talking the same guy. He wanted $275 to rebuild my WB as is or $450 to convert it to AM/FM with modern parts. It would be totally indistinguishable from an old non-converted radio. He was a kind of independent guy. Said anyone who paid more than $500 for repairs was crazy. I was interested in him because he's a hour drive away from me and I don't want to mail the radio to anyone. There's a horror story here on CF or NCRS where a guy sent his radio for repair 4 years ago and hasn't heard anything since. That repair guy seemed to have had a fairly decent rep.
With an expensive item, I want to go see the guy who's going to repair it, if we have a problem then we can talk face to face.
