    Key's

So my ignition cylinder turns with out a key, one door wont lock and I have no spare lock or glove box wont lock. Who has the best master lock kit? This would make a great winter project for my 63 SWC.

    Re: Key's

Hi Gene, You are in trouble. See our key guy old Peter Lindahl for sure.
I keep forgetting that my 04 GMC door lock won't open with a key. Someday when the key fob opener dies I am gonna be out of luck as I don't have On Star anymore.
Make sure you have your 63 door locks on correctly. I learned that the hard way this past summer on the LWC. Mine are reversed. The 63 went thru judging three times until old Bill Sangrey told the op judges mine were incorrect. Turn the key forward to unlock. I hope I am giving you the right info as I forget. John D.

      John,
To follow up with a question......turning the key forward to open.

Doesn't that also mean teeth on key are down entering lock as well? Is it possible to have locks on wrong side as well as installed incorrectly?

I'm not near my car right now to check....

      Thanks,
      David

On Drivers Side, teeth down rotate counter clockwise to open.
See AIM 1Doors sheet 9.00 - it will show a picture of lock cylinder.

Give Peter a second on this stuff also and go by what he has to say.

          Re: Key's

Pete is definitely the right key source. He can make the locks work the way they are supposed to as well as stamp the keys properly. Look on your locks for the lock number. If you have original locks the numbers should match, if you have multiple numbers, pick the one(s) you want to use and call Pete.
