Tag located on AM/FM Radio shaft. 3886966 in 1969 AIM

Page 435 in the 1969 AIM for the optional U69 AM/FM radio calls out for a tag attached to the radio knob.

    Part number 3886966.

Is this a radio attenna trim procedure instruction tag?

    Are they being reprinted?

    Thanks

No, it's a radio antenna advice tag that was installed as part of dealer prep. It basically states FM reception is good for 25 airline miles from a local FM transmitter.

Pictures can be found in MF Dobbins' Fact Book. Paragon lists their repro as PN 8166 at $4...

          John:
The Paragon reproduction tag is their part number 8166. They list it for '67-'68 but it was the same for early '69's as well (Bizzoko page 61, 159 and Dobbins page 105). I have both an original and a Paragon reproduction which I purchased several years ago and the repro. is significantly different. The card stock is darker and more orange and the hole is larger. The lettering is exact. This leads to another question - why would someone bother to do a reproduction and make it different from the original? It costs just as much to do it wrong as to do it right. This a good example although I could site many more ('67 up radio antennas for example). One still has to make the tooling, do the printing make parts, etc. and doing it right is no harder than doing it wrong. Could someone explain this to me?
          Jeff

I had my filter on at Paragon for 1969 which explains why I couldn't find it.
