    Outside Rearview Mirror

My neighbor just gave me an old "GM" outside review mirror. It has the Bowtie on the glass holder and is stamped with part numer 3901863. He thought it was from an old Corvette that he had owned, but wasn't sure. Does that part number ring a bell with anyone.

    Thanks,

    Bob

    Re: Outside Rearview Mirror

BoB, the judging manuals generally do not provide a part number for the outside mirror. However, you can gain some clues by 'stampings' in the glass of the mirror which indicates a date code and manufactor code. Look for DMI or AX as a manufactor code. These would located in the 2nd position of a series 3 items in the codes. The first code indicates a month, 2nd is manufactor, and the third is a year code. Regards Tony

Thanks for taking the time to reply , Tony. I've done some "Google'ing" and it looks like it is from a 67 Impala.

      Thanks,

      Bob
