I use a Sony DSC F717...same camera that Al Grenning uses and Freddie Grimm (matrix trainer). It's a 5.0 megapixels. Mega pixels are like horsepower but learning the lighting conditions are features are key to controlling image quality.

This photo was taken under the car of an 78 B/W M21 assembly date code. A second image was zoomed and cropped and posted in a previous thread on a similar topic:

The zoomed image was cropped from the first image. You'll see these in the upcoming issue of the Restorer.

This comes from a Canon EOS with a 100mm macro lens. I've used this set-up to take a bunch of PICS at regional, national and Bloomington events. I'm 6'1" and can stand up straight to get this result.

Optical illusion (I get them too); close your eyes, think "stamp", and look again.

I get it now. Thanks John. My problem was with the "think" part.
