Just curious, for a 69 do you perfer the white or red stripe tire?

Depends on the color of the car and the wheel type.

Erv: I used to think one would have to consider body color. Now I like red for big block cars and white for cruisers. I have a 73 vert. 350 and I have white stripe as it just a great cruiser, but great looks in my opinion. Either way the car would have my eye. tom

Personally, I like Red on any color car. I haven't seen it much on a Blue C3, but it would stand out in a crowd.

Red is always cool, but I'd prefer the white on a blue car........ Just me.

I pan to place my order with Kelsey tire today or tomorrow. I do not have a build sheet to determine what the car had originally. I do have the Motor Vehicle Purchase Order and Window Sticker which does not denote any information concerning the tires.

In judging does it matter if it is Black Wall, Red Stripe or White Stripe?

Is there a known date that Red Stripes where no longer fitted to '69's?
I have a late '69 that I'm planning on putting Red Stripes on but don't want to be hit as being too late of a car for them.

I happen to prefer the extra width that comes with white walls, my car came with goldlines ( hated cleaning those narrow stripes ) went to white walls and love the way the car looks.

Generally, if the window sticker doesn't show a tire option ("P" prefix), the car came with the standard blackwall tires; but stickers aren't judged, so you can put whatever you want on it as long as it was available when the car was built.

Thanks Steve. I will be home for Christmas, at least that's the plan right now, but things change everyday over here. This will be the first time in five years that I'll be home. Can't wait!!
