A29 Build Date on 67 Dow Smith Body?

Is it possible to have an A29 Body Build date code on a 67 Dow-Smith roadster trim tag. According to Al Grenning's trim tag book both D-S & SL body build date codes start with "B" for September.

Saw the A29 on a trim tag & not sure if I'm misreading the manual or overlooked something.

AOS bodied cars built in August 1966 (Trim tag with Axx date) are legitimate and have been documented. This is stated in the 1967 Judging Manual as well as my personal observations.

I think the TRIM TAG BOOK table for 1967 cars is just an omission. There were no COMPLETED CARS built in August. The first day of full PRODUCTION is shown/recorded as September 1.

Agree with Larry; have a pic of an A24 tag off of VIN 000180; convertible body A-0141. So Ionia must have begun body production about 3 days earlier.

Now compare that with St.Louis bodied '67s: coupe S-0123, dated B13 (car VIN unkown). Probably began S-body line around 8th Sept.

Then there's always the pilot line cars: VIN 00005 with a K13 tag date (July '66) and S1 coupe body.
