1971 Hood Black Out

Aside from puchasing paint and paint Flatner from a Paint Store, are their any over the counter spray paints which match the original under hood, blackout? Was the original hood blackout paint emanel or Laquer, and which one would you recomend.

I used good old Krylon #1613 semi-gloss on the underside of my 71 hood. I've posted a picture to show you the look. It's really too nicely done but it's what I wanted. I like the Krylon because it's easy to touch up and keep clean.

If you want something that you can mix and spray from a paint gun (gives a more consistent finish) you might look at Eastwood's offerings, as well as Ecklers. I always like to shoot from a HVLP gun for touch ups.

You can still order it through online suppliers. Globalindustrial.com has it though now it is K01613. It works quite well on the firewall.
