Can someone tell me where the vacuum source that feeds the heater control initiates from. The black hose goes from the heater, threw the fire wall to ?

There is a check valve in the line off of the rear of the intake manifold. It has one line in and two out. The small one is the line that goes into the passenger compartment.

      Hi Vincent,
I believe Wayne is correct about the main source of vacuum to the interior, but the supply for the heater control comes through the firewall below and to the right of the wiper motor. There's a little angled recess in the firewall with a 1 hole grommet. The hose travels along the fire wall, passes under the wiper actuator and meets a very small tee just to the right of the wiper actuator. There are 2 clips that hold the hose as it passes under the actuator. The tee is in the yellow vacuum hose that connects to the METAL vacuum pipe that runs along the firewall behind the engine.
It's in UPC 1, sheet M3, in my 71 AIM.
      Regards,
      Alan

Thanks, Alan, You are correct. And, the main source may be off the big hose, I dont remember.

Vincent didn't mention the year of his car. It's posted in the 70-72 section. His profile doesn't state the MY of his car.
          So we have concluded it's a 1971?
My 1970 doesn't have a metal tube as Alan describes for a 1971.

We really should know the model year before we say what is right or wrong.

I agree. 70 doesn't have the luxury of the nice neat metal tubing along the firewall.

The vac hose rats nest for 70 puts that tee over toward the brake booster area. I believe the large hose color for 70 is as Alan states color

It is a unusual tee in that the small heater control nipple is at a right angle to the larger tee connection. For some reason, when you need to replace it ,the small nipple is in line with a a large nipple. Have a pic of that somewhere

Robert. Thats the one.(replacement). The original one is black, and the small nipple is the "leg" on the tee.
