Roy has two different housings pictured above. If you are referring to the one in his 5:26 PM post, I agree. I have seen several of those that are on unmolested 340 and 360 HP 62's that I have every reason to believe to be original.

My machine has it as a 4:26 post. I have a late production known original 340hp car that has that housing. There should be a seam down the middle that is difficult to see in Roy's picture

Mike, Yes, I was referring to the housing in Roy's photo in the 5:26 post. I really did not look that closely at the other photo.

This is a thermostat off a 63 Impala SS 300 HP car. The car was produced in the fall of 1962. Could this housing be the correct part for Corvette in 62. Does anyone have a idea of the best way to repair the pitting on the neck?

Rev Mike, AS I mentioned before I have seen many seamed water outlets on unrestored 62 FI cars. I have also seen a ton of the one like the one in Rich's nice photo. That one seems to be the most common one around the shows, etc.
Dale Pearman was the first to bring to my attention many years ago that in fact the seamed water outlet was his favorite on 62's.
So the moral of the story is either one may be correct. John D.
