Hi Edward,
I don't believe that steering boxes are dated.
The box on my 71, #6589, has a large "S" in a square (Saginaw) as part of the casting along with the number 567649. Below the number is a T in a circle.
The steering arm has a cast number 38294518. The first 8 is obviously upside down. Under the number is... GM T 6.
I hope this might help you I.D. your box.

Somewhere around 1976 a date code was cast into them. I've never seen one on the 63-75? but don't pay much attention to that anyway. The castings are different between the years, as are the inout spline, covers, and lower seals. If you look up my threads on Digitalcorvette or vettemod you'll find pictures of the differences. The T in the circle was early 70's.
