google Life Chevrolet tarrytown NY for some neat assembly line photos. the picture of the Black painted powerglide mated to a Chevy engine orange sbc , without any overspray on either, confirms the powerglides were painted black. other interesting fact surface on viewing the photos.mike

It was a wild place. My wife was the second shift Nurse for the line crew back in the late 60's. I still don't believe some of the stories!
