was the spare tire tub painted on the outside ??? the lid wasent but the tub shows paiint ? which is correct paint or no paint ?? or was it over sprayed during blackout proceedures?? thanks Don..

Don,

The tub should be unpainted natural fiberglass. However, there may be some overspray from the blackout of the exhaust system.

as i thought you would say it would be easier to paint it again but now to remove the paint on this as well thanks Don..

Hi Donald,
I'd encourage you to not use anything abrasive on you tire tub.
After I got the 30+ years of 'gook' off the tub, I was surprised how well the surface of the fiberglass had survived. I DUSTED on a little semi-gloss clear to even the sheen out and was pleased how new, and just out of the mold, it looked. Good Luck!
