    59 Radio speaker grille

I'm looking at a 59 to buy and it has a bezel very poorly installed with four studs on top of the speaker grille and I/P cover. I am told that this year did not have the bezel, only the grille portruding through the cover. Can anyone verify what the correct installation should be.? I know this is probably in Noland's book and other reference manuals, but I'm short on time and need a quick opinion. Thanks.

Chuck, 1958 and 1959 speaker grilles do not use a bezel.

I have a last day of production 1959. The car had its original interior, dash pad etc. when I acquired it. It did not have a speaker bezel, nor was there any evidence of ever having it.

Thanks, Ed, I really didn't think they had one. Don't know what happened to Rob's car along the way, but maybe they were experimenting for the 1960 model at the plant. Who knows? Anyway, appreciate your confirmation. Don't really want to get involved with a I/P cover replacement and windshield removal, etc. that goes along with it.

I have a June '59 car with bezel. I can't swear it is original.

I also saw a '59 at Carlisle w/bezel but don't know the SN.

My '59 didn't have the bezel from the factory, but I bought one because the dash cover was curling by the screen. That may be why you're seeing them on '59s.

I installed a bezel on my '59, because it made the replacement paded dash look so much better.

Question, for those of you that installed a bezel, was it the same as the 60-61-62 and did it fit OK? Thanks,

It is the same as the '60-'62. The bezel also requires a new screen.

I don't remember any fitment problems, but my car is radio delete.
