AC Delco Plugs ACNITER II

On the AC Delco plugs that are ACNITER II on the boxes should they also say ACNITER on the plug itself? I some NOS R45TS that have the green stripes an no ACNITER on the plug. I also have some NOS R43TS plugs that have ACNITER on the plugs themselves. Did certain plugs have the words ACNITER on them an others did not? Thanks

They must have made the ACNITER II up until the early eighties. I only have two NOS ACNITER II that are R43TS with the word ACNITER II on them and just got in a set that have the words ACNITER II on the box but the plugs do not. Also when I compared the old NOS to the newer NOS set the green stripes are different on the plugs the older set has four equal sets of green stripe and the new set has a lager green stripe on the plug. Any one know when this change came about?

Lyndon from what I remember the first plugs for corvettes were the Fire ring looks like from 1953 till about 1969 Acniter was from 1970 till about 1974 75 then Acniter II. I many be way off but thats what I remember. For 1971 the plug would have Acniter around on the insulator and 4 equal green bands. Acniter II would have alot of different markings on the plug due to running changes depending when produced. Just some info AC stands for Albert Champion and yes that is the same person who started Champion spark plugs he sued Delco to get his name back after Delco used the same name when he worked for them.
