1969 Corvette Convertible Header Reveal Mldg

I tried to search and have looked at the AIM for my late 69 big block convertible information.

I have found conflicting info on the header reveal moulding. Should a late 69 vert have holes or not in the main chrome trim piece that runs across the top of the windshield? (the part the hard top or soft top seals to.)

I apologize if I should have found this info else where but this is the only site I trust.

If I could also be pointed to a link with close up photos of this area on someone's car I would appreciate it.

The GM #3966659 molding used for late 1969, if not all of 1969, has FOUR holes for attaching screws. The holes are countersunk and used in conjunction with countersunk-type, oval head, chromed phillips screws. Not only is this how it's supposed to be, it's exactly the way my original owner 1969 convertible was built.

      Joe

Early 69 MY cars did not have the screws in the the molding. I don't know when the change occured but my Dec. 68 built car doesn't have them.

You are awesome! I likely will need to replace mine down the road and I almost spent some $ on the one without holes. The current one I have has those holes but for some reason the screws re missing and I assumed Bubba just substituted an incorrect piece.

        I owe you dinner....

        Thank you
