I am doing a frame off resto on a 66 Chevelle SS. and I just had all the body work done and painted. And I was thinking about using a DIY truck bed liner that you can brush on. Using it on both inner fenders, under the trunk pan, inside the front floor, and possibly the under side to the firewall. this is not a numbers matching car or will it ever be. I want a very nice drive that I am not afraid to drive. what is your thoughts.

Re: a little OT restoring a metal car
I know a few people on this board who like the real A-bodies.
I coated the inside floor and about 6-inches up the sides and doors of my late 1976 Suburban. Rust started (or maybe continued) underneath it anyway. It did quiet the interior a whole lot though. All that said, the truck never saw the inside of a garage. It spent winters on my driveway -- close to the road salt the city puts down to make the roads safer. It spent summers on NCRS road tours all over the country.Terry- Top

Re: a little OT restoring a metal car
I know that it was done to the 1939 Chevrolet Juan Manuel Fangio race car (replica) that David E Davis owned several years ago. It was done by a commercial applicator who did a very nice job. The people who do the truck bed liners will likely work with you if you want to have them do it. It's up to you if you want to find a company that only sprays black or one that offers colors.
